Pocket Zone is the world's first data collector software that was developed just for crash and crime scene investigators. It is easy to learn and use because it was created only for you - not for surveyors! Pocket Zone doesn't have a lot of surveyor language and features that make it difficult to learn.  Pocket Zone has only the features you need to accurately obtain measurements of the scene. After you collect the measurements with Pocket Zone, upload the file to your desktop PC and open it in The Crash Zone, or The Crime Zone. The files are completely compatible, so there is no conversion required that could lead to potential errors.

Control your total stationor other laser measurement device and collect the data - all done in 3D!

Supports many laser devicesincluding equipment from Laser Technology, Sokkia, Nikon, Topcon, Leica, Trimble, and more.

Runs on both Windows CE and Pocket PC handheld computers -Use Pocket Zone on Pocket PC's like the HP iPAQ and ruggedized PCs like the TDS Recon, TDS Ranger, Topcon FC, and the Panasonic Toughbook 01.

Automatically connect pointswith lines, arc, or curves - all in accurate, 3D.

Click one button to fire your instrument -Many instruments allow you to use Pocket Zone to take the shot. Pocket Zone also auto-saves every shot so you never have to worry about not saving points.

Protection for your data -Points shot with a laser instrument are protected and cannot be erased; instead, they are moved to a special "Ignore" layer.

3 Point Repositioning -Reposition your laser instrument at any time just by re-shooting the same 3 basepoints. Fast and easy!

"Back Site" Repositioning -Quickly and accurately move your instrument, just shooting the new location and shooting back to it's original location.

Verify your data -Generate coordinate data text files of your points so the measurements can be verified. This is critical if you are collecting data that will be presented in court!

Draw points, lines,continuous lines, and curves. Just assign codes to the points you want to connect.

Use "Pace Mode"to quickly pace off distances and record the measurements.

Place text - Use text to show notes and dimensions. Place text in any size.

Measure any distance in the drawing - Get X, Y, Z distance, horizontal distance and angle and slope information.

Unlimited Undo/Redo -Don't worry if you make a mistake, just "Undo it". You can go back as many steps as you need.

Versatile Zoom commands -Zoom in, zoom out, zoom window, zoom previous, and pan. It's easy to zoom in on small details, or zoom out to see your entire diagram.

Place linetypesfor fences, powerlines, hedges, railroad tracks, skid marks,guard rails, and more. When you create your final diagram, Pocket Zone's line types display perfectly in The Crash Zone and The Crime Zone.

Place symbols to show the locationof vehicles, signs, trees, hydrants, utility poles, footprints, bodies, weapons, evidence, etc.

Draw buildings and place symbolsto show the location of doors, windows, alarm panels, sprinklers, elevators, stairs, utilty shut-offs, and more.

Layers automatically managed for you -Points, point descriptions, notes, etc. are automatically put on separate layers to make editing easier.

Save time -Open and edit drawings previously created, so you never have to re-draw. Once you measure a particular intersection, just re-use that data and add the details of the new crash or crime.

Import and Export to AutoCAD .dwg and .dxf file formats.

Pocket Zone diagrams to your desktop PCand open them directly in any CAD Zone program, including Crash Zone, Crime Zone, and Fire Zone.
